This update provides the corresponding updates for the Linux<br \/>Hardware Enablement (HWE) kernel from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS for Ubuntu<br \/>12.04 LTS.<\/p>\n<p>It was discovered that a use-after-free vulnerability existed in the block<br \/>device layer of the Linux kernel. A local attacker could use this to cause<br \/>a denial of service (system crash) or possibly gain administrative<br \/>privileges. (<a href=\"http:\/\/people.ubuntu.com\/~ubuntu-security\/cve\/CVE-2016-7910\">CVE-2016-7910<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Dmitry Vyukov discovered a use-after-free vulnerability in the<br \/>sys_ioprio_get() function in the Linux kernel. A local attacker could use<br \/>this to cause a denial of service (system crash) or possibly gain<br \/>administrative privileges. (<a href=\"http:\/\/people.ubuntu.com\/~ubuntu-security\/cve\/CVE-2016-7911\">CVE-2016-7911<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Andrey Konovalov discovered a use-after-free vulnerability in the DCCP<br \/>implementation in the Linux kernel. A local attacker could use this to<br \/>cause a denial of service (system crash) or possibly gain administrative<br \/>privileges.
