CES 2021: HP aims to appeal to consumers and remote workers with wide range of devices
COVID-19 has changed the way people live and work this past year, so much so that HP research has shown people in the U.S., U.K. and Japan using their personal PCs an additional seven hours a week. Photography, writing stories/articles and live streaming emerged as the top three activities.
HP has unveiled a lineup of Windows 10 devices at CES 2021 to help those spending more time on their devices pursuing creative and professional goals. With fingerprint readers and IR cameras, you can login via Windows Hello for increased security.
The HP ENVY 14 is a mobile personal creative studio that has a multi-touch enabled IPS display that provides 11% greater viewing area than a traditional 16:9 laptop. There’s a physical shutter for the webcam and a dedicated mute mic on the keyboard, and the laptop features AI Noise Removal to mute unnecessary background noise when using speakers, headphones or the mic during video chats, audio calls and recordings. You can expect up to 16.5 hours of battery life [1]. Customize it with up to 11th Gen Intel Core processor [2] and up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650Ti Max-Q graphics. It’s expected to be available in January via HP.com for a starting price of $1,249.
The convertible 2-in-1 HP Elite Dragonfly G2 weighs in at less than two pounds, with a design that incorporates recycled materials, including ocean-bound plastics [3]. 11th Gen Intel Core processors power it, along with new Intel integrated graphics. Stay connected through 5G or gigabit-class 4G LTE connectivity, with Tile built-in. New and improved features include crystal clear sound with Audio by Bang & Olufsen, now AI-enabled to maximize the audio experience for speech, music and movies. It’s expected to be available in January.
The HP Elite Dragonfly Max takes all of that to another level, adding enhanced collaboration features such as four wide range microphones with AI-driven audio optimization software, a 5MP + IR camera for a crystal-clear teamwork, and an HP Eye Ease display with Eyesafe certification, to work, surf or chat without burdening your eyes. It’s expected to be available in January.
The fan-less HP Elite Folio combines what people love about their phone, tablet and PC all into one device with a flexible magnesium unibody design, vegan leather covering and quiet keyboard. It comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, optional 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6 and up to 24.5 hours of local video playback. People who own an HP Elite Folio can also get up and move around without missing a beat with 76-degree field of view webcam, dual microphone array and high-definition speakers with Audio by Bang & Olufsen. The 13.5-inch diagonal display has an HD webcam with built-in privacy shutter for enhanced security. The device also includes an always-ready HP Elite Slim Active Pen with an integrated charging and a storage slot for easy access. It’s expected to be available in February.
The HP EliteBook 840 G8 Aero may be lightweight, but it’s a powerhouse that has 11th Gen Intel Core processors, integrated Tile capability and Wi-Fi 6 (with optional 5G LTE connectivity options). Work better together – even virtually – with the integrated 720p HD camera and AI-based audio. The design contains 90% recycled magnesium metal covers, recycled plastics and 100% sustainably sourced packaging to reduce environmental impact [4]. It’s expected to be available in March.

Actual battery life will vary depending on configuration, and maximum capacity will naturally decrease with time and usage.
[2] Multi-core is designed to improve performance of certain software products. Not all customers or software applications will necessarily benefit from use of this technology. Performance and clock frequency will vary depending on application workload and your hardware and software configurations. Intel’s numbering, branding and/or naming is not a measurement of higher performance.
[3] Weight will vary by configuration. UHD panel or HP Sure View Reflect, 32GB memory base units, WWAN, 4-cell battery and 512GB SSD or higher not available on configurations starting at less than 1kg. Laptop speaker enclosure and display bezel components made with 5% ocean-bound plastic.
