What is the current support for greater than 2TB SATA and SAS disk drives and Adaptec controllers?

The table below contains a list of Adaptec products and their status:

Note: newer 6Gb/s and 12Gb/s disk drives may not be supported with backplanes rated at lower transfer rates. If in doubt, please check with the backplane manufacturer for the specific configuration details.

* Adaptec RAID 51245, 51645, and 52445: Board Rev. C1 or later is needed. Previous board revisions may or may not recognize greater than 2TB disk drives.

Definition:
Tested: disk drives with the specified size and a sector size of 512 bytes have been validated by our Product Verification Group and specific models are listed on the compatibility report for the controller. Note: native support for 4K sector drives is available with Series 7, 8, 7H, and 6H only.
Supported: disk drives with the specified size should be recognized by the controller. No testing has been done by our Product Verification Group.
Not supported: disk drives with the specified size cannot be used with the controller.

** Firmware v5.2.0 Build 17343 for the ICP5045BL, ICP5085BL, ICP5805BL, ICP5125BR, and ICP5165BR:
Adaptec is providing minimally tested firmware packages. Please contact Adaptec by PMC Technical Support to obtain these firmware files. Have the TSID or serial number of the product at hand when contacting support.

*** Firmware v5.2.0 Build 15617 for the SATA II RAID 2420SA, 2820SA, ICP9047MA, ICP9087MA, SAS RAID 4800, 4805, ICP5085BR, and ICP9085LI:
