Announcing UWP Community Toolkit 1.3 The UWP Community Toolkit continues to grow at a rapid speed thanks to the ideas and contributions from the community. Over the last period, over 82 percent of the contributions came from the developer community (59 contributors). Thank you! Today, we are happy to announce the largest update to the toolkit since the launch a few months ago! You can get started following these steps, or preview the latest features by installing the UWP Community Toolkit Sample App from the Windows Store. As a reminder, the toolkit can be used in any app (across PC, Xbox One, Mobile, HoloLens and Surface Hub devices) targeting Windows 10 November Update (10.0.10586) or above. Spheroids now available for Windows 10 and Xbox One When we started development of Spheroids, we wanted to do something inspired by the mechanics of a classic game that was popular in the arcades in Spain when we were young: Pang! (aka Buster Bros). It was a simple skill-based game that had you bursting balls over different stages around the world. We thought it was great and that it could be used as inspiration to evolve it and mix it with other genres to create something new and original. The first thing we thought could improve upon were larger environments. After all, why should you be confined to a small screen? It might have been a constraint back in 1989, but now we could push the platforming and puzzle elements hinted at in Pang! to new levels in Spheroids. Following up [ more… ]

Windows SDK for Google Analytics Google Analytics is one of the most popular analytics libraries for websites and mobile apps. Google Analytics is widely used to track user sessions, screen views, events, crashes, social interactions and promotional campaigns on Android and iOS. Today, we are excited to announce that Microsoft is launching a Windows SDK for Google Analytics, providing an easy way for Windows 10 developers to access these valuable services. The SDK can be integrated into your apps via a NuGet package. The source is hosted on GitHub.
