Start developing on Windows 10 October 2018 Update today We’re excited to announce that the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (build 17763) and SDK is now available. You may also know this as Windows 10, version 1809. New APIs and Features for developers Every update of Windows 10 is loaded with new APIs but don’t worry, Windows Dev Center has a full list of what is new for developers. Here are a few of my favorites. WinUI Library: This is the way to get new controls! We are shipping new controls out-of-band such as Menu Bar and Navigation View. Head to https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.UI.Xaml for the latest package. Density UI improvements: We’re making the default spacing and sizing about 20% tighter compared to the old standard. Standing behind “MSRC Listens” Last week at BlueHat’s “MSRC Listens” session, I took the stage with Mechele Gruhn, manager of the Vulnerability Response PM team, to explain how MSRC is changing our communication, workflows, and tooling to deliver an improved user experience for our partners in the security research community. How to get the Windows 10 October 2018 Update Earlier today, Yusuf Mehdi announced the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, the newest feature update for Windows 10. I’m excited to share our October 2018 Update rollout plans, how you can get the update today, plus some new update experience enhancements. How to get the Windows 10 October 2018 Update As with prior Windows 10 feature rollouts, our goal is to deliver the October 2018 Update in a phased and controlled rollout to provide a great update experience for all. We are beginning the global rollout out via Windows Update in the coming weeks.  As with previous rollouts, we will use real-time feedback and telemetry to update your device when data shows your device is ready and will have a great experience.
