A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 19.10
- Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Summary
DBus could be made to crash if it received specially crafted input.

Details
Kevin Backhouse discovered that DBus incorrectly handled file descriptors.
A local attacker could possibly use this issue to cause DBus to crash,
resulting in a denial of service.
Update instructions
The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions:
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
- dbus – 1.12.16-2ubuntu2.1
- libdbus-1-3 – 1.12.16-2ubuntu2.1
- Ubuntu 19.10
- dbus – 1.12.14-1ubuntu2.1
- libdbus-1-3 – 1.12.14-1ubuntu2.1
- Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
- dbus – 1.12.2-1ubuntu1.2
- libdbus-1-3 – 1.12.2-1ubuntu1.2
- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
- dbus – 1.10.6-1ubuntu3.6
- libdbus-1-3 – 1.10.6-1ubuntu3.6
