보안성 높은 재택근무 환경을 위한 AWS 아키텍처 구성하기 팬데믹으로 인해 재택근무는 일상화가 되었습니다. AWS의 CISO인 Stephen Schmidt의 AWS re:Inforce 2021 기조연설에 따르면, 팬데믹 이후 재택 근무자는 114% 증가했고, 재택 근무자가 직접 장비를 갖추는 사례가 59% 늘었다고 합니다. 이런 상황은 기업 보안팀에게는 재택 근무자의 단말기에 일관된 보안 정책 적용이 어려워지고 보안 정책 적용의 누수로 이어져, 새로운 보안 위협으로 대두되고 있습니다. 이 글에서는, 기업 보안팀에서 재택 근무자의 인터넷 트래픽을 제어할 수 있는 AWS Client VPN과 재택 근무자의 단말기에 일관된 보안 정책을 적용할 수 있는 Amazon Workspaces를 통한 가상 데스크톱 업무 환경을 구성하는 아키텍처를 두 단계로 나누어서 알아봅니다. 1. USN-5073-2: Linux kernel (GCP) vulnerabilities Maxim Levitsky and Paolo Bonzini discovered that the KVM hypervisor implementation for AMD processors in the Linux kernel allowed a guest VM to disable restrictions on VMLOAD/VMSAVE in a nested guest. An attacker in a guest VM could use this to read or write portions of the host’s physical memory. (CVE-2021-3656) Maxim Levitsky discovered that the KVM hypervisor implementation for AMD processors in the Linux kernel did not properly prevent a guest VM from enabling AVIC in nested guest VMs. An attacker in a guest VM could use this to write to portions of the host’s physical memory. (CVE-2021-3653) Norbert Slusarek discovered that the CAN broadcast manger (bcm) protocol implementation in the Linux kernel did not properly initialize memory in some situations.
