Notes from the Node.js VM Summit The Chakra team was delighted to host the third Node.js VM Summit recently here at Microsoft. These meetings bring together JavaScript VM vendors, Node collaborators, and CTC members including participants from Google, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, nearForm, and NodeSource. This group is currently focused on addressing ABI compatibility problems facing the Node native module ecosystem. Today, we’d like to share a quick recap of the meeting and some of the next steps. Node Native Modules Node native modules are written in C/C++ and directly depend on V8 and/or NAN APIs. These modules may need to be updated or re-compiled for every major Node.js release because of ABI/API changes. We know that HoloLens growth is driven in large part by the community of developers and commercial partners around the world who are using mixed reality to change their business. Over the last several months, we began shipping HoloLens to more developers and commercial customers around the globe, including those in Australia, Ireland, France, Germany, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Japan. Customers in these regions need partners they can trust to create the future of mixed reality experiences. Next-generation web apps for education Just a short time ago, the new Microsoft Intune for Education was announced for teachers and technologists to manage devices, accounts, and apps for students. Since that time, we’ve heard from a number of developers and app publishers who work in education, who have questions about how their apps can take full advantage of this new system.  For those app builders who are already publishing their apps on the web (and there are a lot of them!) we have a great solution today – and it’s about to get a lot better. Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15055 for PC and Mobile Hello Windows Insiders! Today we are excited to be releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15055 for PC and Mobile to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. Other changes, improvements, and fixes for PC If you have Symantec/Norton anti-virus software installed on your PC, you should no longer get an 0x80070228 error when attempting to download this build. Symantec released updated anti-virus definitions last week that fixes this issue. Please make sure your Symantec/Norton anti-virus software has the most up-to-date anti-virus definitions BEFORE taking trying to install today’s build. PCs should no longer fail to update to this build at 71% and roll-back to the previous build. If you have additional language packs installed, this build should install just fine.
