In the 2021 NGINX Community Survey, we asked you a number of questions about where you are in that journey, what you are seeing and learning along the way, and what concerns you the most about this nascent technology. Kubernetes Adoption by The Numbers Let’s start with some adoption numbers. Of our respondents: 35% are using Kubernetes in production, including hybrid environments. 35% are actively exploring Kubernetes. 30% haven’t adopted nor are they actively exploring Kubernetes. If you’re like me, those numbers might make you think, “Wow, that’s a big difference from the 2020 Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) survey that had 83% of respondents using Kubernetes”. Announcing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22563 Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22563 to the Dev Channel. TL;DR This build is available for ARM64 PCs. As a reminder, not every build we release will have as many new features as last week’s build. However, this build includes a few new features for Insiders to try out as we roll them out including a tablet-optimized taskbar experience, some improvements to content in Widgets, and a new group policy for IT admins in education. We also have some notable changes and improvements in this build including improvements for File Explorer, support for Microsoft Edge tabs in snap assist and ALT + TAB, and support for Emoji 14.0. USN-5292-4: snapd regression USN-5292-1 fixed a vulnerability in snapd. Unfortunately that update introduced a regression that could break the fish shell. This update fixes the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience. Original advisory details: James Troup discovered that snap did not properly manage the permissions for the snap directories. A local attacker could possibly use this issue to expose sensitive information. (CVE-2021-3155) Ian Johnson discovered that snapd did not properly validate content interfaces and layout paths. A local attacker could possibly use this issue to inject arbitrary AppArmor policy rules, resulting in a bypass of intended access restrictions. (CVE-2021-4120) The Qualys Research Team discovered that snapd did not properly validate the location of the snap-confine binary.
